New Hot Spot-Barrio- and Lollapalooza Food Picks | Rocking Right Now 8/3/17

Alright friends, it's a HUGE weekend in Chicago and here are some awesome places to check out, and things to eat.  Click HERE to listen to my full radio segment on 101-WKQX.  

Barrio

From DineAmic Group, the restaurant group who can do no wrong, comes Barrio.  River North's new hot spot that is headed up by yet another Top Chef Alum, Katsuji Tanabe, it the "taco the town."  They put a fresh new spin on Mexican favorites.  Some dishes I cannot wait to try are the guacamole with lump crab, the forest mushroom tacos with truffle garlic crema, red snapper ceviche, and their roasted half chicken pibil with coconut green rice.  

Their cocktail menu looks muy fantastico también, with drinks like the "Hot Mezz" which has Mezcal, watermelon, jalepeno, lime, and sage.  Yummmm.  Oh and their tequila list is huge!  

Lollapalooza

Lolla's food gets better every year.  And this year is really taken to the next level.  Some faves from the last couple years are back, thankfully, such at Graham Elliott's Lobster Corn Dogs... some of the best things I've EVER had (see below).  But this year we've got Harold's Chicken Shack and even MAD Social's insane chicken and waffles. 

But if you're springing for the VIP or Platinum experience tix... you're choices are even more decadent.  One Off Hospitality is catering all the food in the backstage and VIP areas.  So if you're a fan of Big Star, The Publican, or Dove's Luncheonette (and who isn't?!) You're in luck!  Just try not to eat too much because you still have to be able to jump around and dance with ease.
