BBQ Supply Co., La Sirena Clandestina, Regards To Edith. 10/13/17

Two new spots and one tried and true for ya this week!  So many yummy dishes to try from this list, let me know if you hit them up, would love your thoughts!  Check out my full segment on 101-WKQX HERE!

BBQ Supply Co.

I need to give a bit more love to the South side... so here it goes!  Hyde Park just got a new BBQ Supply Co.  Brought to you by the same group that brought us Chicagoans Nashville Hot Chicken, we now have another deelish BBQ spot.  Executive Chef Dylan Lipe (from Blackwood BBQ) is at the help and bringing his pitmaster expertise to the venue.  The setting is more "supper club" than hoedown, and they even offer pit master classes and they have a Deep Whiskey Program!  How cool does that sound?!  They open today too!

La Sirena Clandestina

I've given La Sirena lots of shout outs over the years... because it can do no wrong.  It's cozy and romantic so it's perfect for date night.  The food is authentic Brazilian fare brought to us by esteemed chef, John Manion, and the cocktails are perfection.  But since I'm going to Brazil on Sunday, I wanted to get in the mood, so I've got this Fulton Market hot spot on the brain.  Their head on prawns are THE BEST I've ever had.  Their empanadas rival any others, and the Moqueca is a MUST TRY...so unique.  I only hope i'll be able to eat this well in actual Brazil!

Regards to Edith

Regards to Edith is Heisler Hospitality's throwback to the heyday of Chicago's Maxwell Street.  (Not an All in the Family spinoff as I originally thought).  It's warm and welcoming and is paying homage to the diverse cultures and lives of the Chicagoans of the late 19th century.  But of course, like Jared Wentworth's other spots (Longman and Eagle) it's going to have a modern spin.  Be on the lookout for a fancy (and pricey) Italian Beef sandwich, and chicken fat fried potatoes.  Old school, yet reinvented comfort food at its best!
